What would you add to your dream home?
Definitely a well-designed garden to relax in — and, as a luxury, an underfloor spiral wine cellar would be a great touch.
How do you spend your time outside work?
I’m a long-standing Aston Villa season ticket holder and also coach junior football in my spare time. I love live events — sport, theatre, music — and spend weekends on long country walks with my very energetic sprocker spaniel.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve had to budget for on a project?
Converting a restaurant in the Café Royal, Regent Street, into a replica ‘Cheers’ bar — complete with props shipped over from the original team in Boston.
What project or client work stands out for you?
Rebuilding a swimming pool on historic Abbey grounds in Warwickshire. We had to navigate strict heritage controls and archaeological findings before construction could begin — a valuable reminder of how complex heritage-led projects can be.
What historic building would you love to work on?
Bletchley Park. Its wartime history and importance to the evolution of modern computing make it a fascinating place to be involved with.
What recent achievement are you proud of?
Helping deliver a multi-million pound ‘all through’ school — from nursery to secondary — on a greenfield site in under two years. It was a real team effort and delivered just in time for the autumn term.
