More about Shaun
What would you add to your dream home?
A swimming pool — as it would be great for unwinding.
How do you spend your time outside work?
I love walking and try to walk every day. I also enjoy watching my (now adult) children compete in a variety of sports, and I’m a big fan of DIY — there’s always a home project on the go to help me switch off.
What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve had to budget for on a project?
When helping Travelodge set up their internal maintenance team, we had to budget for items like vans, uniforms, tools and materials — definitely outside the typical scope of project costs.
What project or client work stands out for you?
Working with Travelodge has been a standout experience — the variety of projects has pushed me to apply core quantity surveying skills in many unexpected ways.
What historic building would you love to work on?
Sagrada Família — especially given my work in Spain. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime project that represents the idea of continuous creation and evolution.
