Role:

Employer’s Agents, Quantity Surveyors and CDM Advisors.

Description:

Wakemans were employed by Frontier Estates on this phased project as Employer’s Agents, Quantity Surveyors and CDM Co-ordinators.

The development is based on a 10 acre site within the existing Gloucester Business Park. Phase one is a mixed-use scheme and includes a extension to the existing Tesco supermarket, 11 retail units and 25 residential apartments with a contract value of £6.5 m.

The overall scheme forms a major part of Tewkesbury Borough Councils plan to integrate surrounding residential communities with the existing business park, and retail facilities. Whittle square is designed to become the heart of the surrounding neighbourhood and will provide the community with a network of easily accessible shopping, living and recreational facilities.

The planners are keen to create an attractive urban environment that will encourage the use of non-car modes of travel including a bus interchange and landscaping that will facilitate the safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists.

The development is built on a brown field site, and work began with the demolition of industrial structures and remediation followed by a 60 week construction period.
