Bristol Director Tony Hooper retires

On Thursday 31st March Wakemans held a celebrational gathering to mark the retirement of our Bristol based Divisional Director, Tony Hooper. Wakemans staff, Tony’s family, Clients and close contacts were invited to our Birmingham headquarters for a glass of champagne and a buffet to celebrate his distinguished career and to wish him well in all his future endeavours.

Tony’s career spans for 50 years starting as a 17-year-old Trainee Quantity Surveyor in Bristol, eventually joining Wakemans over 17 years ago. Tony is looking forward to taking time out to relax, spend more time with his family and improve his golf swing.

Tony was presented with a commissioned painting by local artist Helen Watson as a leaving gift. Tony was very specific that the painting depicted the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Concord and Helen, the wife of our Chief Executive Dean Watson, produced a fantastic painting that was unveiled during the celebrations.

Dean Watson commented ‘Wakemans wish Tony all the very best in his retirement and thank him for his endless energy, enthusiasm and drive in leading and developing our Bristol office and supporting the wider business over the last 17 years.’

Tony will continue to work on a part time consultancy basis for Wakemans and we are delighted that Bristol based Divisional Director Lance Locke will take over the responsibility for our Bristol team.
