Travelodge National Refit Programme
Multi-million-pound Investment Across UK Hotels
Project Overview
The Travelodge national refit programme is a multi-million-pound investment across key UK hotels, refreshing the estate to a new premium design standard.
Wakemans is providing project and cost management services, helping to deliver upgrades that improve guest experience, enhance sustainability and boost operational performance.
The scope of works includes full refurbishment of bedrooms, bathrooms, receptions and Bar Café spaces across hotels nationwide. Designed to appeal to both business and leisure guests, the new look combines stylish finishes with sustainability measures such as low-energy lighting.
Reception areas have been redesigned with decorative panelling, soft LED lighting, leather seating and wood-effect flooring. The refreshed interiors blend Travelodge’s signature navy blue with calming neutral shades.
Bar Café and restaurant spaces now provide flexible zones for work, relaxation and socialising. Counter seating with USB ports caters for business travellers, while booths and shared benches create a welcoming atmosphere for leisure guests.
Delivering these works in fully operational hotels required careful sequencing, clear guest communication and robust health and safety planning. Noisy activities were scheduled outside peak hours, signage kept guests informed and construction areas were segregated to ensure safe access to all key facilities.
The result is a rolling programme that continues to refresh Travelodge hotels without disrupting day-to-day operations.
