Description:

Wakemans were employed as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer on this £1 million fit out of a new production facility and offices for Hofer Powertrain one of the world’s leading providers of hi-tech automotive engineering consultancy services.

In a joint venture with ElringKlinger, Hofer Powertrain Products UK has been set up as a new UK subsidiary, operating out of the completed advanced engineering centre at the Solihull business park.

Hofer signed a 15-year lease on Unit 1 at the Connexion campus at Blythe Valley Park. Wakemans managed contractor Intex Projects to fit out the new 47,000ft² production development space which has been purpose built for the manufacture of a new hybrid transmission system.

The project was completed on time and within budget.

Description:

Wakemans were appointed on this project by Aschurch 9 Ltd, a Joint Venture between Chase Commercial Ltd and Hortons’ Estate Ltd to construct a new office and production facility at Tewkesbury for Moog Controls Ltd, a leading designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components.

Wakemans acted as Employer’s Agent, Cost Consultant and CDM Consultant on the 44,000 ft2 project, which will expand Moog’s existing facilities at Ashchurch Industrial Estate.

The expansion project has enabled MOOG to improve its service to its customers and to sustain business growth and indicates another positive indication of the recovery within the economy and in particular for the construction industry.

Description:

Wakemans were employed by St Modwen Developments as Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Consultant on this £3m project involving the construction of a 41,000 ft² industrial / warehouse unit. The scheme also included the development of a new access road and preliminary ground work in preparation for Unit 3 the second phase of the scheme.

The Units form a part of the £22m Gateway 12 development located on Waterwells Business Park in Gloucestershire.

Unit 2 is a two storey building with 40,913 ft2 industrial / warehouse space with a 8m clear internal height and office accommodation that can be tailored to occupier’s requirements.

Description:

Redman Heenan Properties employed Wakemans as Employer’s Agents, Quantity Surveyors and CDM Co-ordinators, on this multi phased scheme to develop the former RAF Quedgeley complex and convert it into an Industrial/Business Park.

This initial phase of the project involved the construction of £3.5m purpose built 94,000ft² manufacturing facility with attached two storey office building for Prestoplan.

The project proved especially challenging because of the existence of badger setts, the site was carefully managed to comply with requirements of English Nature and the Local Authority to avoid disturbance and maintain the badger environment.

Description:

Wakemans were appointed as project managers and quantity surveyors for a new build manufacturing facility for Instarmac Group plc, a leading manufacturer and supplier of cement and bitumen based products..

The scheme initially involved an 80,000 ft² clear span factory, 26,000 ft² of high grade office accommodation, additional transport offices, compressor house and maintenance workshop. Subsequently Wakemans were engaged to build an extension to the facility, extend office accommodation and provide a covered canopy to the locading dock area.

This was a complex project, meeting the particular needs of an bespoke owner occupier had many different aspects such as a specific fit out of internal and external client training areas. The client required an extremely high specification to the offices to present and maintain the corporate identity. As a result the reception area has a stunning feature staircase and glazing and an impressive level of fit out. Several other design feature’s following consultation with the carbon trust introduced to reduce the buildings impact on the environment included a a feature 18m wide glazed rooflight to the rear of the offices, sun pipes, solar pre heating to hot water and energy efficient lighting. The project was completed within 40 weeks at a cost of £ 6,300,000.

Description:

Bromsgrove Technology Park is a £1.8m multi phased development, this phase of the development involved the construction of three industrial blocks totalling 35,550 ft² GIA, known as Sapphire Court.

The blocks are divided into 13 no. separate lettable business units, ranging in size from 1,402 – 5,378 ft² designed to offer small to medium sized companies industrial and associated office accomodation. Each unit is self contained and has a single loading door, with 6m clear height (capable of accommodating a mezzanine floor).

The units have been constructed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ environmental rating.
