New build distribution centre
Wakemans were engaged on behalf of Hillwood Developments on this £7.2m development to provide a new build distribution centre, pre-let to DHL. The unit is located within a established logistics and industrial area at Hortonwood, Telford, and is ideally situated close to the M54 road network.
The single storey building with two storey offices provides 55,000 sq. ft of space specifically fit out for DHL’s requirements with loading bays, external yard and associated offices, creating employment for 140 employees. The development has been sustainably designed to achieve BREEAM Very Good accreditation with maximised glazing to facilitate solar gain, eco lighting systems and rainwater harvesting.
Based on a greenfield site originally used for farming environmental planning for the development necessitated retained tree and hedgerow protection and bird and bat conservation measures.
