Project Overview
Morrison Crescent was a planned maintenance project that Wakemans helped to deliver for the Isle of Anglesey County Council a total of 29 residential homes in a cul-de-sac in Holyhead. The dwellings are a mix of private and council-owned properties. Wakemans acted as Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Principal Designer on this regeneration.
The scope of works included the external refurbishment and upgrading thermal fabric of the homes, new windows and doors, refurbishment of existing slate roofs and roofline elements, installation of Solar PV and batteries, environmental works including new paths, garden areas and fencing, demolition of outhouses and the installation of new sheds and internal fire and sound proofing works to the ground floor flat ceilings.
All works were carried out under a JCT contract, whilst tenants continued living in the properties throughout. This required careful planning, communication and organisation to ensure minimal disruption to the residents’ daily lives.
The overall result of the project is a fresh and sustainable look on Morrison Crescent, along with an improvement to the residents’ quality of living.
