Project overview
This project involved the construction of 6 two-bedroom affordable semi-detached dwellings that were designed and built to achieve the Passivhaus Standard, delivered with Wakemans acting as Quantity Surveyor on the development.
These homes are also created to rigorous energy efficient design standards. They maintain an almost constant temperature through both efficient insulation and ventilation, thus costing the tenants with virtually no heating costs. They were built to high eco standards, reducing carbon emissions along with an EPC A rating.
This project was the first Local Authority led housing scheme to use both Welsh timber and volumetric construction, utilising Welsh supply chains within a 50-mile radius.
This scheme also won the National Offsite Project of the Year Award.
